We’re dedicated to reducing our footprint and making choices that support a cleaner, more sustainable future for our festival community.
This is our very first year – and we’ve put a huge amount of thought into making sure our festival is as kind to the environment as it is fun for everyone who joins us. We’re lucky to host the event on lush, beautiful land with incredible views, and we want to keep it that way. From energy and food choices to waste and recycling, we’ve worked hard to make thoughtful, sustainable decisions right from the start.
Here’s what we are doing
Powering the Festival
We’re proud to say that our event is powered entirely by Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil (HVO) biofuel – a renewable energy source that produces around 90% less carbon emissions than regular diesel. That means everything from our stages and bars to our lighting and traders runs on cleaner, greener energy. Reducing reliance on fossil fuels, all our tower lights are solar powered.
Supporting Local Food Traders
Food production and transport can have a big environmental impact, so we’ve chosen to work with local food traders who share our commitment to sustainability. All our traders are based within a 35-mile radius (many even closer!) and are reducing single-use plastics, sourcing local ingredients, serving food in compostable packaging, and minimizing food waste.
Reusable Cups
Every ticket includes a reusable festival cup, helping to cut down on thousands of single-use plastic cups. You can refill or swap your cup throughout the weekend at no extra cost. At the end of the festival, you’re welcome to take it home as a keepsake – or hand it back so it can be recycled.
Eco-Friendly Wristbands. All our wristbands are made from a recycled material created from plastic bottles. They’re durable, comfortable, and better for the planet.
Respecting the Land
We’re incredibly grateful to hold our festival on such beautiful, green countryside, with stunning views. We take our responsibility to protect it very seriously. As soon as the music stops and throughout the day, our dedicated litter-picking teams get to work across the site, carefully collecting and sorting waste to ensure every piece ends up in the right place. All rubbish is sent to be sorted by material type – with the goal of sending as little as possible to landfill. After the festival, every effort is made to return the site to exactly how we found it, so the land can recover and thrive once again.
How You Can Help
Travel Responsibly Getting to and from the festival is one of the biggest contributors to our carbon footprint. Please consider: Car sharing with friends or family
Cycling, if you’re local and confident. You can also calculate the impact of your journey and find tips on reducing travel emissions via ecolibrium.
Recycle Your Rubbish
Please use the recycling and general waste bins around the site and in the campsites. – Help us recycle as much as possible.
Ditch Pointless Plastic
Bring a refillable water bottle and use our free drinking water points throughout the site. The water is tested by the local authority and perfectly safe to drink. If you forget your bottle, your reusable festival cup works just as well for refills.
Save Paper
There’s no need to print your tickets – we can scan barcodes straight from your phone or tablet. (Just make sure to download them before you arrive, as signal can be patchy unless you buy our wifi bolt on then you will be all sorted for a great weekend.)
Help Us Go Further
This is just the beginning. We’re proud of the steps we’ve taken in our first year, but we know there’s always more we can do. We’d love to hear your ideas on how we can make the festival even greener next time.
